I just woke up to the best news ever, this morning. Last night brand.Live hosted a party at the Commodore here in Vancouver to announce the lineup for this year’s Squamish Festival. Having grown up in Squatamala, as I so affectionately call it, I’ve been a big supporter of the festival since year one…Devo et al.
brand.Live has done a kick ass job attracting top talent each year to this 2-day celebration amid a mountainous backdrop – unlike any other outdoor music festival in the world. But this year they’re bringing it, guns a’ blazing, with the first real rock band headliners.
Queens of the Stone Age will take the stage this year, with a possible appearance by sometimes drummer and band co-founder Dave Grohl. I. Love. This. Band. So much so that my husband and I boogied to one of their songs for the first dance at our wedding last year. Having seen them live a few times, I can guarantee this is going to be a fucking badass show.
Other bands/artists I’m stoked to see: The Heavy, Bear Mountain, The Matinee, Childish Gambino, Yukon Blonde, Jurassic 5, Band of Horses and BC’s own Dan Mangan. Check out the complete lineup below:
Presale tickets go on sale Monday, March 4. Will I see you in Squamish this year?
